Meet many characters as they make their way through our streets, brimming with stories, tales and anecdotes. You’ll be charmed by the hurdy-gurdy music and the Filles du Roy on the lookout for husbands—but watch out for the beggars and con artists of Rue de la Truanderie. Luckily the Maréchaussée and official criers are on the job. There’s also the Jesuit on high and his followers, and missionaries dragging their giant book around as they preach the Good News. Our carter has his shoulder to the wheel conjuring up the everywhere-flourishing atmosphere of bygone days.
A plethora of activity zones are set up in the streets. Visit nouvellefrance.qc.ca to find out more!
Louisiana Day
August 5th – On all sites
The passion of Louisiana fires up New France! A talk at the Musée de l’Amérique française chapel, a storytelling performance at the Royal Battery, and, of course, music. After Jay Sewall’s Cajun-spiced show, GreelySavoyDuo and the Lost Bayou Ramblers ring out their southern sounds at Auberge des Géants Belle Gueule.
