The SAQ New France Festival presents you scoops from its 2013 program!

For the 17th edition, the Festival kicks off with an exiting openning ceremony. Visitors are invited Wednesday August 7th at 5 o'clock to assist The Welcoming Ceremony of the Filles du Roy. Action will take place next on Grande Allée for the Opening parade, followed by an opening show and fireworks.

This year,the Festival's program offers visitors an unusual experience with La Corriveau: l'Électromusicale.

The Ceremony welcoming the Filles du Roy

From August 7th to 11th 2013, discover the heroines of New France, these known or unknown women who marked the colony’s history. The Aboriginals, nuns, academics, merchants, seigneuresses and obviously the Filles du Roy have a lot to say!

Amateur and nonprofessional storytellers are invited to register for the 2013 folktales tournament, in collaboration with le Centre d’Interprétation de la Tradition Orale (CITO) and la Société historique de Québec.
The grand winner will receive 1 000$ in SAQ products!
From August 8 to 10, visitors will be amazed by the tales of the storytellers who will put foward heroines of New France.

It is with a great pride that we announce that the SAQ New France Festival is now a member of the Signature Experiences Collection (SEC), put forward by the Canadian Tourism Collection (CTC), willing to promote travel to Canada.

For the last 16 years, the SAQ New France Festival gives the opportunity to relive history in a simple and effective way for nearly 200 000 people every year. This festive event is truly unique because of its historic nature, its manner to develop the areas of the Vieux-Québec and its varied program.
